Superintendent Message

Spring is just around the corner, and I can hardly wait to see our campus bloom! Looking back, our winter season was a masterclass in Bronco spirit. From the digital arenas of Esports and the rhythm of Jazz Band and Show Choir to the eloquence of our Speech team, the hustle of Basketball, and the literacy milestones of Book Blast, our students have stayed busy and brilliant.

These achievements highlight the power of our school-home partnership. Each trophy, performance, and book read is a testament to our motto: Together we make a difference. Let’s carry this momentum into the spring as we continue to put our students first in everything we do!

State Runner-Up: Huge Win for Bronco Esports! 🎮

Our Overwatch Esports team brought the heat to the State Championships this past Wednesday, February 25! After a season of dominating the stage, our talented Broncos fought their way to an incredible 2nd place finish in the state. We are so proud of the teamwork and strategy these students showed—proving once again that when we pull together, we make a difference. Help us give a huge "Go Broncos!" to our State Runners-Up! 🥈🐴

Jazz Band to Compete at State

The Jazz Band has been on an incredible trajectory this season, and their hard work is hitting all the right notes. We are thrilled to share that the ensemble recently took home first place in their division at the prestigious Tallcorn Jazz Festival at the University of Northern Iowa!
In addition to the group’s success, several individual students were recognized for their outstanding performances:

  • Andrick Rodriguez earned the coveted Class 2A Outstanding Soloist Award.
  • Raiden Hubby, Callum Sifert, and Will Hinman also received prestigious soloist awards for their standout performances.

The momentum doesn't stop here. The band is now preparing the Iowa Jazz Championships. On April 7, our musicians will travel to Iowa State University to compete for the state title.

We are incredibly proud of these students for their dedication and the sophisticated level of play they bring to our music program. Please join us in wishing them the best of luck as they head to Ames to represent our school!

Scholastic Bookfair

We are thrilled to announce that the Scholastic Book Fair is back! It’s the perfect opportunity to fuel your child’s love for reading while supporting our school.

The fair will be open during Parent-Teacher Conferences at Jacobson Elementary on:
  • Monday, March 2
  • Thursday, March 5
If you are looking for a way to give back, please consider browsing our Teacher Wishlists. Donating a book directly to a classroom library is a wonderful way to enhance our students' daily learning environment.
