Belmond-Klemme Community School District

The theater program at Belmond-Klemme strives to create a fun, creative environment for all students who are interested in theater. Students can be involved in acting, backstage/stage managing, lights and sound, set building, prop/set design and more. Every year the high school thespians put on a large production in the Fall, alternating between a musical and a play. In the Spring, we perform two or three student-directed one-act plays. These are directed by senior students who have been a part of Thespians throughout their time in high school. Junior High (JH) students also get to perform in one of the student directed one-act plays. The JH play is entirely made up of JH students (besides the senior directors) - acting, lights/sound, backstage, etc. 

Our production of The Addams Family musical in 2023 was adjudicated by the IHSMTA and was recognized with a Distinguished Scene award several Special Recognitions of members of the cast. Our 2024 Fall Play was "Prince Charmless", and our 2025 Fall Musical was "Shrek the Musical".
